Strategic Studies
The Chair of Strategic Studies at the Military Academy at ETH Zurich focuses on the application of political and military power from an interdisciplinary and global perspective. Its foundation lies in the intellectual and conceptual historical study of modern strategy—understood as a plan for utilizing means to achieve objectives. Building on this, the chair conducts strategic and operational analyses of current wars, conflicts, and threats, with a primary focus on military aspects. Across all areas, emphasis is placed on methodological diversity and the comparative inclusion of various national and subnational perspectives.
